Six Principles from Nehemiah
Northeast Community Fellowship Blog Six Principles from Nehemiah
RECEPTIVE – Nehemiah 1:4 (NIV) – When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.
REPENT – Nehemiah 1:6b-7 (NIV) – I confess the sins we Israelites have committed against you. 7 We have acted very wickedly toward you. We have not obeyed the commands You gave your servant Moses.
REDEEM – Nehemiah 1:10 (NIV) -They are Your servants and Your people, whom You redeemed by Your great strength and Your mighty hand.
REQUEST – Nehemiah 2:4-5a(NKJV) –4 Then the king said to me, What do you request? So I prayed to the God of heaven. 5 And I said to the king, if it pleases the king, and if I have found favor in your sight, I ask that you send me to Judah…
REEVALUATE -Nehemiah 2:11-12 (TLB) – 11 Three days after my arrival at Jerusalem I went out during the night, 12 taking only a few men with me; for I hadn’t told a soul about the plans for Jerusalem that God had put into my heart…17 But now I told them, you know full well the tragedy of our city; it lies in ruins and its gates are burned. Let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem and rid ourselves of this disgrace!
REPRIORITIZE – Nehemiah 3:5 (NKJV) -Next to them the Tekoites made repairs; but their nobles did not put their shoulders to the work of their Lord.
